Magnolia Leaf

Create a shading network for a basic Magnolia Leaf based on a real life example.

Final Shader Composited with a Background Plate

Overview

I worked with procedural techniques to create the shading network for this leaf. I used numerous Layered Texture node to combine different procedural nodes for the different attributes for the shader including diffuse, specular, and bump attributes. This was a simple exercise to practice developing procedural techniques, and it was meant to be quick and very simple.

This class used Maya to work on shader network development using Maya's tools and nodes to create realistic looking shaders. The primary goal was in shader development, not modeling or lighting. However they still needed to be address. Every model was one I created myself and it was not something I found from an online source.
