Interior Space

Create an architectural space and "sculpt" the negative space of the room.

Interior View

Overview

By sculpting and building a positive element (the architectural walls and structure) you are also building the negative space (the open air) as well and you are shaping that air. While building the positive space (the box, the architecture) I also built the negative space and paid attention to that while highlighting it's form with color and light (the different tinted pieces of plastic). By looking directly inside the space (which is the point of view that the viewer is intended to see) you see a sense of diminishing space and scale. The viewer observes the designed space, both positive and negative. I also dealt with the exterior space (the actual, physical outside of the box) and designed that as well, not leaving it as a simple cube.
