Figure Analysis
These drawings practiced sighting, measuring, and analyzing the human figure in extended poses while drawings in a rectilinear form and showing our measuring process and sighting lines.

Gesture Drawings
These drawings focus on capturing the movement of the figure in short periods of time. After each gesture, we rubbed down the surface to develop it further and show the "history" of the figure.

Mass Gestures
These drawings were gesture studies with the addition of massing out large volume shapes to give the form more dimension.

Skeleton Study
This drawing introduced the study of the skeletal form and the standard canon of proportions for the entire skeletal figure as well as many of the bones themselves.
- Willow Charcoal

Contour Study
This drawing focused on contour drawing of the human head and face. As a result, it was meant to be a "pure drawing" without the addition of measuring and sighting. As a result, the proportions are off.

Figure Analysis with Value
These drawings practiced the entire drawing process of taking a drawing through gesture, sighting, planar analysis, and value block-in. All drawings were timed and limited in completion.

Rhythm Gesture
These drawings focus on the natural rhythms in the human figure through a process where you start a line on one side of the figure and then pick it up on the other side. Its primarily a contour type of drawing.

This drawing focuses on drawing the parts of the human body in box-like shapes and simplifying the figure into larger components.

Overview
The above drawings were a collection of various assignments throughout the class to continue our practice and development of our drawing styles and to help us continue to sight and draw the human figure more accurately and faster. They involved in-class exercises and often times were rubbed down after each drawing to develop the surface of the paper and to show a progression in our drawings.
